Work in progress stage 1

The First thing you have to decide on when you about to do a painting is the colour background you will use. Because Ruger is a chestnut I thought that a bright blue would work really well and sing with his coloured coat.
Rugers canvas was undercoated with a black paint before drawing the image. This allows me to see the detail more clearly than it would if I was using a white background. Next I chose the blue I would use for the background. Stay tuned for stage 2

Work in Progress

Ruger

Over the coming weeks I will place updates on Ruger's painting on this page.. Ruger will be painted in acrylic on a 16" x 20" x 1" thick gallery wrapped canvas.

I hope you enjoy the process.
