Started on his right side adding colour to his rump and down his leg. Happy with the progress in this drawing,  will be putting Pendragon aside for a few weeks now as I prepare for the bit Arabian show next month.

Pendragon

Pendragon is a knadstrapper stallion,  I just love all his spots. Its amazing that we think of white animals as white but when you look closely there are lovely pinks and mauves and sometimes a bit of blue mixed in.  Im really enjoying being back at the easel.  Pendragon is my first pastel on the easel for the  year.

Work In progress

Work In Progress - Untitled

School is still on holidays over this side of the world until early next week.  With school holidays and painting inside the house I havent had a lot of time in the studio since Christmas.

To get the creative juices flowing ready to jump back in at the deep end in the studio next week and make a start on the commissions booked in already. Ive made a start on this acrylic painting on paper. Its untitled as yet any suggestions??? 

This painting is one that I'll  taking to Equinex in Canberra in April this year to have for sale on my stand.

This little guy has been in my collection for sometime and I have been reluctant to sell him.  But the time has come to offer him for sale to add a few more pennies to my Arizona Bucket fund.  Im hoping to be able to save enough to bring both my husband and 9 year old daughter with me.

I have been invited to exhibit in Arizona next year 2011!!! Which is sooo exciting to be invited to be part of a joint Australian/American equine art exhibiton.  Concentration is one of my equine watercolour painting which if it doesnt sell prior to the exhibition I may well decide to take it over with me. But as I'll be working on a whole new body of work I may well leave it at home in favour of something I like much better.

Oh what to take acrylics, watercolour, pastels decisions decisions lol. Now I have to do some research and find some great reference photos to work from.

So, now I need a Arizona Trip fund! Purchasing my art will be a huge help in getting me there. You can help me make this trip in person by either purchasing original artwork or commission a portrait for yourself.
Each sale will help towards funding this trip! Im also looking into grants and sponsorship. Any prospective sponsors out there ??? 

This will be the most important trip of my artistic career and I'll try to keep you up to date as more information comes from the organisers location, dates etc. And most importantly the other artists.


Cant wait to meet the other artists in person who's work I admire greatly.

What a fun way to start off 2010.  Hound Dog is a private commission (thank you) of one of my pen and wash animals.  This fellow was created using the recipients own photo with all those folds of skin he was an interesting subject

Hound Dog is 5" x 7" pen and wash on watercolour paper.

Charlies Angels Horse Rescue

This is a dedicated group of people in Queensland Australia that look after horses and ponies in that State. 

Charlie’s Angels Horse Rescue Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation (endorsed as a deductible gift recipient) whose purpose is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected, abandoned and homeless horses in order to improve their lives. Charlie’s Angels Horse Rescue Inc. then finds permanent “forever” homes for these horses through its adoption schemed. The organisation undertakes community education as an essential part of its role in addressing welfare issues.
