The horse I learnt ride on when I was a child was  a brumby that my grandfather caught in the mountains and trained from a wild mob on the far south coast of NSW Australia.. Whisky as he was called will always have a special place in my heart..

I have donated the following pieces to HVBA to raise money for the great work they do in saving and re-homing these Australian icons in the Hunter Valley of NSW.

I thought I would try something a little different from the usual pen and wash paintings that I create from time to time.  Deciding to see what would happen if I added a multi coloured wash behind the images... very happy with the result and will definately be creating a few more of these.

Well I think my stockman is now finished might have to tweak the dust/dirt beneath the horses feet a little will have a look tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes.

I have just about finished my paper work for submitting this drawing to a juried exhibition in the next state.

Ive been working on this fellow this morning ... finishing off the riders face and working on his chaps. Ive also made a start on blocking in the colour of the horses coat..  Very pleased with the way he's coming on,, I hope the exhibition jury judges like  him too.

Ive been invited to submit work for a juried exhibition.. Entries for selection for this exhibition to be held in Brisbane Australia  are to be in end of May.

I wanted to submit something that is dear to my heart.... the Aussie stockman.

The final drawing will be 14" x 21" and is drawn in pastel.
