Vern and Ventania - A Portuguese Connection

For something a little different I thought I'd post a work in progress or WIP. Vern and Ventania is a watercolour 14" x 21" in size on arches hot pressed watercolour paper.

They say that there is nothing like a challenge. Well I have to agree that's true, having not done any form of black and white since a child let alone a watercolour. I thought Id jump in boots and all and work on this painting. I'm really enjoying the process of creating this piece.

Even been talked into using it as a tutorial for a group I belong too. Talk about a challenge trying to put into words what is instinctive.
